Political ideologies shape the capability of a certain society on how to think and act accordingly. Throughout the past there have been different forms of ideology. With all these forms of government, we sometimes wonder what would be the best way to run an ideal society. Although in some instances, I firmly believe that there is no such thing as perfect form of government. In reality, it is not always the case that we will encounter a “perfect society” for the obvious reason that problems and disadvantages will arise out of any of these ideologies.
So in order to realize my own ideology, I will use as a basis the group in the political spectrum where I supposedly belong. If I were to discuss my thoughts about our current political system, I admit that something is wrong. But instead of changing it fully (although small changes are essential), I believe that we must just modify the things needed to be. As an addition to this basis, I have my own principles and perspectives of the importance of protecting the people and the world we live in. Therefore, I conclude that my opinions and beliefs on political, cultural, social and economic policy pertain to the principles and ideas of Liberalism and Democracy.
A liberal democracy generates an environment in which every person has a right to freedom. Everyone has the liberty to express their thoughts. Individuals have the power to vote and compete. Every liberal citizen possesses characteristics that are mostly about openness to progress and change. Liberty and individual responsibility is the base of any civilized society, that the state must always have the citizen’s best interest in mind when making choices. The state exists to serve the people and that there should be equal rights for every person. I do not consider the expansion of the government as a burden. But of course, they must do their part. I believe that the poor should be helped by the government and things such as minority rights are preserved and protected. The power to build a better society depends upon the people and the government as well.
